Westside Care Givers (WCG) - West Los Angeles - 5 Stars

Environment 1: This shop is on Robertson just south of Beverly Hills. Decent enough area. Can be lots of congestion, but where doesn't that happen on the west side? They have their own parking lot. The waiting room is basic, has a flat screen to keep you occupied while you wait. This building is old, and obviously not kept up too well. The bud room is an OK size, but just really dirty. Not medical what so ever. Just a chill out place. I've definitely seen worse tho. At least the bud is organized pretty well. This spot does have a small hash\dab bar. I don't smoke shitty BHO so I opted for the hash, and was given a hot knife hit! LOL! They sanitized the mouthpiece of the bong I used with an alcohol wipe.  Could be worse, but keeping the facility looking sparkly clean should be adopted. The hash bar is quite convenient.

Staff 1: Staff are OK. Cute girls with low cut shirts. Most would be too distracted by this to notice anything else. Everyone is obviously really high, my girl wasnt really paying attention to what she was doing. definitely felt rushed. Couldnt really get a read on her knowledge too much,  it was a quick transaction. She didn't try to bullshit me, she just wanted me gone.  The check-in girl was to the point, no issues. Could have been better, but it was not bad.

Variety .5: Decent variety on the herb, some decent strains in there for indica sativa and hybrids. No CBD strains.  They do have a number of edibles, but I was not impressed with any of them that I saw. Never heard of any of the brands. Seemed over price for what they were. No drinks. They do have a few different waxes, but I was not able to check those out, but honestly I highly doubt they have anything really good in there. The hash they had was just OK, no Ice waxes. I wouldn't go here for anything other than herb. 

Quality 1.5: They have a few high quality crops on the shelf for sure. I picked up some of the platinum Jack which is EXCELLENT. Do go check it out. Very smooth smoke, spot on flavor profile, looks great. I also picked up some orange crush which has a nice citrusy sweet smell to it. Decent smoke, just a bit too harsh for me but nice and frosty and decent flavor. The other strains I looked at all looked pretty good, nothing ridiculous and definitely a few not so good crops. No lab testing. 

Price 1: $35 cap, $10 G's. I was really impressed with the Plat Jack and will be back for more. Love finding top quality smoke at $10 a G. The hashes waxes and edibles were over priced. I got a free Joint and a hit of low grade hash. 

Overall a decent club, not great but not bad either. I was surprised the Platinum Jack was so good. I'll have to come back to grab more, but without that, I probably wouldn't be back unless I just happened to be in the area. The service is mediocre but their herbs are priced right and they get you in and out. Couple that with the easy parking and hash bar and this is a handy spot.  I wish it was a bit more professional in there and they took it more serious and cleaned the place up.

Orange Crush 6/10 - Good flavor, decent high, too harsh. 

Platinum Jack 9/10 - Great taste, very dank, super smooth, A  Must try. 

Green Times Collective (GTC) - North Hollywood - 8 Stars

Environment 1: So this neighborhood is pretty shitty. I used to live a half a block up the street and there is definitely multiple hookers on the corner every night of the week. For what ever its worth the sushi spot across the street, Chiba is actually legit.  Anyways, the parking lot is small, if its busy you will have to park on the street some where...depending on the time a day this could be an issue. Inside it is pretty nice. The waiting room is small but has a comfortable couch and is organized and clean. The budroom is medium sized and well organized. The budtender could locate each strain quickly. The room has lots of stuff, but it doesnt feel cluttered or disorganized. They definitely keep the area clean and in order. 

Staff 2: The bud tender was also the person who checked me in, they wern't busy so it was no problem. She was very helpful, answered all my questions and I could tell she actually cares about getting people exactly what they want. I was never rushed but she had a sense of urgency, which I really appreciate. I like to get in and get out. Great experience. 

Variety 1.5: Good variety on herb. Lots of choices in indicas, sativas and hybrids. No CBD strains. They had a good variety of edibles including Cheeba Chews and new to me, Green Hornets. Check my review of these awesome edibles HERE. They also had teas, drinks, deserts, hubby's, capsules and more all stored in a fridge, nice. I do not remember seeing any wax\hash, they might have had one strain but that was it. 

Quality 2: Good herb in this place, they even have a few lab tests to prove it. Although, no pesticides\ residual testing. The herb all was tasty, pretty though just somewhat smooth. Not bad, but not good either. I got the Duchess and it was very enjoyable. The buds were trimmed and cured well so it was still a pleasant smoke. Great selection on effective edibles...you can definitely count on coming in here and getting dosed properly. 

Price 1.5: $35 cap, pretty much everything fire. Cant go wrong. Cheeba chews and Green Hornets are a good price if you get 2.

Environment 2: This spot is right by Bob Hope Airport located on San Fernando Mission Road. Kind of a bitch to get to, if you are familiar with this area, you know what I mean. There looks to be plenty of parking on the street directly in front of the shop. This isn't the BEST area, as it is mostly industrial on this street, I did see a couple crack heads moseying around, but I know this area isn't too bad. Inside, the lobby is fine, plenty of seating, organized coffee table with new patient forms and a friendly person behind the counter. Check-in was simple. Inside the large budroom there was plenty of seating too. These guys have taken the time to design a nice environment, it has a very modern feel to it. This place is clean, you can tell they make a conscious effort to keep it that way. The budshelves are organized well, there is a hybrid, sativa and indica shelf with plenty to choose from in each. This place has their weedmaps on a tablet that is mounted to the budshelf and projected on the wall for easy viewing. I am starting to see this more and more and I must say it is pretty great.

Staff 2: The front desk girl was cool, friendly and too the point, no issues what so ever there. The one bud tender, who seemed like the owner as well, was really helpful. I always have to explain to these guys I am not after the "dankest" herb but the most well grown and most of the time am referred something incorrectly. I let him know smoothness is very important for me. He let me know he only have 5 vendors and has a high level of expectations for them, and flushing is very important. He showed me a few strains, actually taking a large nug out of the jar, and breaking it up it his hands so I could see down to the stem how the nug formation looked. I was able to really get a good smell and good visual of the herb. He showed me over 10 strains without any hesitation or disdain, informing me how each strain was grown. I was really impressed with his attention to customer service; there was about 3 people who walked in after me and he did not rush me along to move to the next person. One of the best purchasing experiences I have had at a clinic. Props. 

Variety .5: Great variety on bud, not much else. Saw no edibles inside, saw a couple BHO's, 3 midgrade hashes. No CBD strains, no drinks. 

Quality 1.5: Good buds here. They have a few different qualities available: top, mid, bottom, shake.  Whether you are on a budget or just want that upper echelon selection I am sure you can find something that pleases your pallet.  I was able to get a good look at their topshelf selections and all were frosty down to the stem and were visually perfect. From the strains that I picked up, they were not as smooth as I would like, but overall very nice and I was not disappointed. I feel like the growers know what they are doing.  Next time I will be picking up the Hydro Jack (which is actually soil grown). No lab testing done here, I always appreciate even one strain a month getting tested, pesticides and mildew included. 

Price 1 : Totally fair pricing, especially considering  the bogo structure allows you to get truly topshelf grams for 15 and 5g 8ths for 55 and midshelf 2 grams for 20, or a quad for $65-55. These are good prices if you want to spend $50 plus each visit. I rather enjoy picking up a gram here, a gram there, so this is a little bit of a problem for myself, but for the most part its great pricing. for the FTP gift He threw in a half G of any strain I wanted and a half G of some mid grade hash, nice!!

Product Review: Cheeba Chews and Green Hornet

I'll start off by saying these are my favorite edibles available right now. They deliver on multiple levels and continue to expand. I am excited to see what they come up with next!!

Price: Quad Dose: $10-$12. Deca Dose: $20-$22.  One $10 donation is good for 4 servings for me, you can't ask for a better value. CBD Quad Dose Chews are usually $15-$20. 


Size: Compared to most edibles, both Cheeba Chews and Green Hornet's are TINY...the Cheeba's are about as big as a small Tootsie Roll. I personally LOVE THIS!!  I can just let a small piece of the edible melt in my mouth and it hits like you would hope one of the big cereal bars would. 

Potency: They have 2 potency's: Quad Dose and Deca Dose. The Quad dose is 70mg of THC total which is about 4 doses for your average stoner and the Deca 180mg and about 10 doses. Regardless of potency, the size of the product stays the same. 1/4th or 1/10th of a Tootsie Roll is not much to digest, absolutely what I am after.

Consistency: I have had Cheeba Chews 15+ times, and have never been disappointed. I have had the Green Hornet's only twice, and they too have not disappointed. I usually get a Quad Dose and eat 1/4th of it. 

Variety: They have Indica, Hybrid, Sativa and CBD varieties available. Awesome. 99% of edible companies do not have these different versions available. The sativa edible is great, still makes you sleepy after a while, but its pretty delayed compared to the indica version.
The Cheeba Chews are a chocolate fudge style treat and the Green Hornet's are a Gummy Bear style treat. The company also has different flavors coming out, which I have yet to try. They have TriCS line of edibles I have not yet tried as well, however I am sure that they are consistent with their other brands. There is a new ratio coming out for the CBD chews which will have different effects.

Taste: An effective edible shouldn't taste too good IMO, and this one doesn't taste the best. That being said, its really not bad at all, and it does what you want it to. As long as it doesn't taste like poop, the slight hash-y taste doesn't bother me at all, especially with how small of a piece I need to dose.
These guys deliver on all levels for me, and are continuing to innovate. I am usually pretty let down with edibles, or they are way too expensive and have way too much sugar for my liking. The Cheeba Chew edibles have really found the sweet spot for value and effectiveness. I highly recommend these to anyone. 

Foothill Wellness Center - Tujunga 4 Stars

Environment 1: This shop is located in Tujunga, tucked up in the foothills off the 210. There is limited parking on foothill BLVD but luckily these guys have a decent sized gated parking lot all to themselves. Dope. I have been here twice and have not had an issue with parking.
Inside, its not the worst, but its not the best. Pretty dirty in the waiting room, has a slight funky smell to it. This room reminds me of a bachelor pad livingroom, not a medical facility. Most people would probably think its fine, but they could definitely clean up a bit. The couch looks old and is about to fall apart. They have a big screen in there where they always have sports playing (when available). The bud room is decently sized, fairly clean, not too cluttered. Not bad at all. the menu is displayed nicely for easy viewing. They don't have the organization down yet, when asking to see various strains off the menu it took quite a long time for the tender to locate the jar.  The jars are plastic airtight pop-top style... I always prefer glass, and if they looked into it, I'm pretty sure they would too.

Staff .5: The staff was what ever for me. In the two visits both bud tenders did not add to my experience, they did not serve me with any helpful information. The first time the tender told me that any dank weed is gonna have a "bite to it" when I asked him what was the smoothest dankest strain they had. He obviously doesnt know what he is talking about. They just seem like your typical stoners not really taking the whole MMJ thing too seriously, they just like getting high all day, which is fine, what ever floats your boat. For me, I look for professionalism and knowledge, if you are in this business I expect you to take it seriously and provide a great experience for the patients.  It takes the staff almost a full minute to locate each strain when you ask to see them, and they look at me like I'm the ass hole for wanting to check out a few of their strains. The security\check-in was fine, no issues there.

Variety 1: Lots of variety on the bud side of things. Had a decent selection of concentrates and edibles. The only thing CBD they had was a cheeba chew...and that was their only option for cheeba chews. Unfortunate as I would have picked up a sativa quad dose if they had it. Their other edibles were mostly desert selections which I am not a fan of. They did have 180mg Kiva bars, which are a solid performer. As far as concentrates go they have a good variety of different styles of BHO, most are indicas tho. They do carry the clear concentrates which is always a good sign. 

Quality 1: The quality of all the herb is hit and miss for me. The best nugs they have go quick, so if you don't come in right after a new shipment, good luck. I have gone there twice and tried 3 different strains, 2 out of the 3 were harsh. All looked decent, but were smoked just OK. Nothing wow'ed me or really made me want to come back for more. They do seem to have in new strains all the time, and I have gotten a couple strains from here that were fairly nice, but over all I was not impressed. This is a low donation spot, and you kinda get what you pay for here. Is it the worst? Not by a long shot. Your average smoker probably thinks this place is great, but there are better options even for the same low donation.

Price 1.5 : $30 cap is the best you can do in SoCal right now, and for the price, the herbs arn't too bad. However, for me personally its hard for me to find something I know I will like, its pretty much a crap shoot. This is the downside of a low Cap clinic, its not going to be as consistent as the expensive places, generally speaking. They have budget BHO and edibles to boot, if that is your thing.

Overall its a cool spot for rock bottom priced herb, however I visited this shop twice to really give them a chance to impress me and it didn't happen. You can easily spend $5 more and get a much better experience and meds. Just a regular middle of the line bud shop for me, but at least they have compassion and offer a low donation price, I will give them props there...but hey, maybe a couple PR strains that are truly high quality for $5-$10 more might not be a bad idea.
