420 Fire Department - Santa Ana, CA - 7 Stars

**Please Note: Very recently the Lounge has been shut down. It may come back at some point, but for now it is not in action.**

Environment 2: 420 Fire Department is the Nuggetry\ Chubbs clinic now since CPA got shut down a good while ago. This spot is located in Santa Ana. From the outside it doesn't look like much and parking is kind of a bitch. Once you go inside that all changes. Similarly to the old CPA the waitingroom is massive. Check in was quick, the dudes working were cool - straight to the point. I was met at the door to the budroom by my bud tender who walked me down the hall to the bud room and gave me the run-down. 
  

I was immediately shown the lounge. The Lounge is about a 20x20 room with couches, tables, chairs TV's, Dab rigs, bongs, torches, lighters, hemp wicks etc ALL for your enjoyment. Really awesome. It felt very relaxed and chill there, a total Coffee Shop vibe. The budtender even told me, if you come in with a friend and only one of you purchases something, you can both chill and use the lounge facilities. Pretty sweet. 

The bud room is very organized, everything labeled. Everything super clean from the front to the back. They run a tight ship here. Bravo.

Staff 1.5: Good staff. The guys working were all cool, tried to give me a good experience. I did feel a little rushed which sucks, especially since it was my first time and I want to check everything out...just doing my job boys! I wasn't hit in the face with science and facts but I also wasn't fed a bunch of a bullshit. Chubs was even there serving people up...A lot of the guys in there were a bit star struck as Chubbs is a bit of a legend down here! Good stuff!

Variety 1: They have a decent selection - about 5 hybrids, 5 sativas, 5 indicas. Lots of high end edibles, clones, lots of high end wax. No low end here - everything is top shelf. I didnt see any CBD stuff but there was a topicals. Considering the quality, a really good variety. Would be nice to see some midshelf stuff here for those of us on a budget. 

Quality 2: Even though nothing is lab tested, you can tell everything they sell is high quality. You don't have to worry about getting some bunk ish from here.

 This shop is all about the dabs. They have some really nice shatter available. Its pricey...but as good as it gets. The flowers all looked good. I tried 4 different strains, all were good. Potent. Not super smooth, but not harsh either. 

Price .5: $50 8ths.  50$-100$ a g for concentrates.  $15+ for most edibles. No mid shelf. price wise, this place kind of sucks...but considering you can get some good topshelf and go chill with your buddies in the lounge, it CAN be worth it depending on what kind of experience you are looking for. FTP is a free G of what ever flower you want. so 4g's for $50 of some bomb...not to bad if you wanted to give them a shot and maybe say whats up to chubs. 

I really liked this spot. If it was more affordable I'd be all over it. But, its OC and they are doing what they can right now. The lounge is awesome, I'll definitely take all of my out of town buddies here to kick it. Cant complain about the quality of buds, but if you are going to charge $50, it would be cool to get lab results. Other than that they have good service, and the spot is imaculately clean. Chubbs is a OOOG and it shows.

Westside Care Givers (WCG) - West Los Angeles - 5 Stars

Environment 1: This shop is on Robertson just south of Beverly Hills. Decent enough area. Can be lots of congestion, but where doesn't that happen on the west side? They have their own parking lot. The waiting room is basic, has a flat screen to keep you occupied while you wait. This building is old, and obviously not kept up too well. The bud room is an OK size, but just really dirty. Not medical what so ever. Just a chill out place. I've definitely seen worse tho. At least the bud is organized pretty well. This spot does have a small hash\dab bar. I don't smoke shitty BHO so I opted for the hash, and was given a hot knife hit! LOL! They sanitized the mouthpiece of the bong I used with an alcohol wipe.  Could be worse, but keeping the facility looking sparkly clean should be adopted. The hash bar is quite convenient.

Staff 1: Staff are OK. Cute girls with low cut shirts. Most would be too distracted by this to notice anything else. Everyone is obviously really high, my girl wasnt really paying attention to what she was doing. definitely felt rushed. Couldnt really get a read on her knowledge too much,  it was a quick transaction. She didn't try to bullshit me, she just wanted me gone.  The check-in girl was to the point, no issues. Could have been better, but it was not bad.

Variety .5: Decent variety on the herb, some decent strains in there for indica sativa and hybrids. No CBD strains.  They do have a number of edibles, but I was not impressed with any of them that I saw. Never heard of any of the brands. Seemed over price for what they were. No drinks. They do have a few different waxes, but I was not able to check those out, but honestly I highly doubt they have anything really good in there. The hash they had was just OK, no Ice waxes. I wouldn't go here for anything other than herb. 

Quality 1.5: They have a few high quality crops on the shelf for sure. I picked up some of the platinum Jack which is EXCELLENT. Do go check it out. Very smooth smoke, spot on flavor profile, looks great. I also picked up some orange crush which has a nice citrusy sweet smell to it. Decent smoke, just a bit too harsh for me but nice and frosty and decent flavor. The other strains I looked at all looked pretty good, nothing ridiculous and definitely a few not so good crops. No lab testing. 

Price 1: $35 cap, $10 G's. I was really impressed with the Plat Jack and will be back for more. Love finding top quality smoke at $10 a G. The hashes waxes and edibles were over priced. I got a free Joint and a hit of low grade hash. 

Overall a decent club, not great but not bad either. I was surprised the Platinum Jack was so good. I'll have to come back to grab more, but without that, I probably wouldn't be back unless I just happened to be in the area. The service is mediocre but their herbs are priced right and they get you in and out. Couple that with the easy parking and hash bar and this is a handy spot.  I wish it was a bit more professional in there and they took it more serious and cleaned the place up.

Orange Crush 6/10 - Good flavor, decent high, too harsh. 

Platinum Jack 9/10 - Great taste, very dank, super smooth, A  Must try. 

LA Con - West Hollywood - 3 Stars

Environment 1: Right off Melrose, parking is not any trouble for me in this area, I used to live right here and know where to park. I like this part of town. Lots of little shops to go to, restaurants, and very nice neighborhoods surrounding. The check-in room here is TINY, the smallest I've ever seen. 2 people could cram in there together and that's about it. After that you go into the bud room, which is very large. Some what organized, however this place has REALLY gone down hill from when I used to frequent it 2+ years ago. What a shame. The bud shelves looked empty. The area where they used to have their clones was clothed off... definitely looked messy and unprofessional If you go straight back passed the bud room you will enter the cozy, quaint hash bar. This place USED to be the SHIT...now its gone to shit. The hash bar is almost as dirty and unorganized as Rediculousness. It looks like they are in the middle of a light renovation, but you can tell they are just dirty. The crowd this place attracts are your average hipster, brain dead, ghetto dabbers with major ego's. WEAK. This place USED to be really high class, some where you could take a date and even listen to some live music on the mini stage. The people that used to come in here were very professional and friendly. Sponge Bob playing on the TV is not always a bad thing, but in conjunction with everything else, it just makes this place seem low class and trashy. They USED to use all illidelph glass, a very high end glass company. Now they use a bunch of random shit, looks like they shop in Chinatown. What a let down.

Staff 0: The security guy makes no effort to give you a good experience. He didn't speak one word to me. I looked at the bud \ over heard the bud tender speaking, she didnt seem to have much knowledge, she just seemed really high. In the hash bar, the bartender was SUPER FADED, and pretty obnoxious. This place is definitely for the egotistical young stoner comunity. No professionalism at all. 

Variety .5: This place uesd to have 10-20 hashes, and maybe 3-5 waxes...now its the opposite. I LOVED this place because they really focused on the hash. I tried 3 flavors and all were pretty good, but not phenomenal  You can tell everyone's all about the BHO here. The selection of hashes has gone way down, and I honestly wasnt too impressed with the BHO menu either.  I didnt purchase any herb, but they didnt have much to choose from. No edibles, no CBD, no topicals etc. weak.

Quality 1: The flowers they did have looked pretty dank. The hash I'd give a 7/10. They always used to have dank flower, though its a little pricey. The BHO didn't look that great, no clear concentrates or shatter in stock when I was there.

Price .5: These guys will charge $60 an 8th if they can. The hash bar is $10 for a serving...cool thing about this spot is they will break your dab\hash hit into smaller hits for you... which having acute asthma really makes a big difference for me! I fucking hate these douchebags trying to make everyone cough till their airways close up like their\our manhood rests on it. Props for being one of the only hash bars to do this.

LA Con hash bar used to be legendary...a clean/ high end space with lots of high quality hashes and herbs. It was a real treat to go in here and enjoy the ambiance, live music, cool bud tenders, and just chill out and smoke using some really high end glass. 

Not the case anymore.

I asked them right when I got in there if there was new owners in the past couple years and was told yes. Surprise surprise. You can still go to this spot for live Jazz on Sundays I believe, but I can only handle so many of Hollywood's egotistical degenerate youth... probably wouldn't be too pleasurable for me these days.
If you are in the area and want to get high and kill some time, it will do the job. I am a bit critical of this spot because it used to be so good, and has really dropped off. Its about on par with every other hash\dab bar around LA these days tho... kind of sucks no one is trying to raise the bar any more. 

RIDICULOUSNESS - Santa Ana, CA 5 Stars

Environment 
.5 Stars: This shop is easily accessed. Plenty of parking, however it does get busy. I was very impressed how this shop gets people in and out. This is one of the FEW remaining (at this time) shops in northern OC that have not been raided by the DEA, so this place gets busy and more than likely will get shut down just like the rest of them. The atmosphere\decor is weak. There is a dab bar (plus) but it was super messy. Food and shit all over the place...they definitely don't clean the place up on the daily. If they cleaned the place up and organized there would be nothing wrong with the space, but this is a business, they are making money, so use some of that to pay someone to clean it, everyday. Its that simple.

Staff  
.5 Stars- The check person was very nice and very quick. no problems or complaints. The bud tender girls seem to be early 20's pretty asian girls, which is fine and all, but I really like to see these professionals, be professional. Being there is a dab bar, all employees were definitely sky high, and little edgy. Makes sense, super busy shop, everyone stoned out of their minds = stressed vibe. I was shown everything I asked to see, and didn't have any major problems, this time. The shop only seems to care about Indicas and dabs, and thus thats about as far as the staff's knowledge goes.I told her i needed it to be a smooth smoke, because harshness will ruin my night, and she then she began treating me like a noob. Typical. There was some employee's or friends of the shop just sitting around watching TV being high. Not my cup of tea.

Ganja 
Quality 2 Stars- Lots of good buds here but ALL Indicas and hybrids. No sativas. When I asked to see their best sativa I was shown the Girl Scout Cookies, which is certainly a hybrid.  The GSC was a very pleasant smoke. The smell was totally amazing, and it was instantly apparent why they call it GSC! Sweet smell reminiscent of baked goods, A truly unique flavor. I can see what all the buzz has been about. Very frosty. This smoked pretty darn smooth, not perfect but I really enjoyed this batch and would get it again if it was the exact same. Their topshelf indicas were also pleasing to the senses, but I did not try them to verify this.

Variety .5 Star - Lots of indicas dominant hybrids in  wax and flower, some hybrids, NO sativas,  some Bhang Bars for edibles, and that pretty much wraps it up. If you like BHO (BrHO) and OG's (brOG), you'll probably enjoy this place. 

Price 1 Stars - lots of BOGO deals, meaning you can get good pricing on quads. The pricing isnt bad at all, in fact its pretty good for the area its in. I got 2 free dabs of some low grade wax. That was pretty cool I suppose, but I its far from anything high quality. It was brown.  My 8th was $40 and also weighed out at 4g's making it my pricing fair and on par with what I expect.

Cool shop.They could improve on some things for sure, but honestly, they probably never will. The DEA Raids are crazy in OC right now, and they are lucky to be one of the few shops still open, and are not RAPEING it on pricing. The dab bar is a plus if you are on the go!
